I lived just up the hill from this canal in 1962 and 1963, when I was 7 and years old. There was an orchard next to where we lived and a tiny village to the east, right next to the canal. Farther east was an old refuse dump to which my friend and I used to to sneak away to search for treasures. The canal would freeze in the winter and we would skate on it. One day my dog fell through the ice but we were able to save him. Thank you for posting the photos. They are beautiful and remind me of dreams I’ve had looking across the Loire.

Tiens je sais d’où ça a été pris.. N’y aurait-il pas un succulent restaurant à proximité… avec un délicieux parmentier de boeuf au foie gras.. Je m’emballe !!!
